About Us

The Silicon Valley Chapter was established on August 23, 1983, as the first of its kind in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Initially known as the South Bay Area Chapter, we rebranded in 2011 to reflect our location more accurately. Our membership comprises of a diverse group of professionals, including both seasoned Payroll experts and those new to the field.

 We host monthly meetings and educational opportunities from February through October, culminating in an annual celebration of our profession each August during our chapter’s anniversary meeting.  In 1991, we successfully petitioned Santa Clara County who designated August as Payroll Professionals Month in Silicon Valley.

Our objectives for our members include:

• Providing educational workshops and meetings
• Featuring informative industry speakers
• Offering networking opportunities with other Payroll professionals
• Supporting the Certified Payroll Professional program through study groups
• Administering an educational scholarship program
• Distributing a monthly update bulletin with access to job board listings

• Awarding Recertification Credit Hours towards recertification
